Girkin pictures, middle top picture, the flag behind Girkin is not the Confederate's battle flag, but one proposed for Novorossiya (new-russia), which was supposed to be an amalgamation of Donetsk and Luhansk PRs that never formally materialized. It's based on an old tsarist naval jack, which by an amazing historical coincidence resembles the battle jack of CSA that is now used as its flag. You can easily spot the difference: Russian flag doesn't have the Confederates' stars.
I believe it did exist for a while (at least it was proclaimed in Sloviansk), but since LNR and DNR from the very beginning were related to different gangs, pretty soon they started to fight each other.
It was rather obvious that this is his goal ever since he launched his political movement. So far it doesn't look serious, hardly anoyne stands in his defense. But I expect a lot of surprises in the following months.
